1 Day trip from Marrakech to Essaouira

Excursion itinerary:

Escape the bustle of Marrakech and head for the cooler climate of Essaouira on the Atlantic coast. Located three hours’ drive west of Marrakech, Essaouira is an exceptional city boasting long sandy beaches and a mesmerizing mixture of Portuguese, French, and Berber architecture. Colorful and laid-back, the town has long been a destination for artists and hippies; you can visit the Jimi Hendrix Cafe in the nearby village of Diabat or one of the many art galleries. Essaouira (formally known as Mogador) is also popular with Gnaoua musicians and the Gnaoua World Music Festival is held here each year. The fishing harbor in the village is still operational and provides the many excellent seafood restaurants in the town with fresh catches daily. On the road to Essaouira, there are many argan oil cooperatives and you will also witness the famous tree-climbing goats in the argan plantations.
We will collect you from your accommodation in Marrakech in the early morning. If required we can stop for breakfast along the road before arriving in Essaouira where we will arrange a local guide or leave you to enjoy the town at your own leisure before returning to Marrakech in the late afternoon.
