4 days Marrakech to Fes desert trip itinerary:

Day 1: Marrakech – Ouarzazate – Dades Gorges

4 days Marrakech to Fes desert tour departure: We will pick you up at 8 am, then travel over the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260m/7414 f) while enjoying superb views of the mountains and of the Berber villages on the way. Stop for lunch and tour in the World heritage site of Ait Benhaddou. (This famous kasbah was used as a backdrop for more than 20 films.) Pass through Ouarzazate and continues Towards the Valley of Roses and the Dades valley, Skoura oisis with its authentic 17-century kasbah, the valley of a thousand Kasbahs and the Dades Gorge. Stay overnight at a hotel.

Day 2: Dades Gorge – Merzouga Camel trek Night in Desert Camp.

Breakfast at the hotel. Depart to the Todra Gorge: a massive fault, rising to 300 m in a narrow valley with thickstudded palmeries and Berber Villages. After lunch in the gorge, we will drive to the great sand dunes of Erg Chebbi Where will you take a camel ride (about one hour and a half) in order to get to your tents Nomadic Berber, dinner, camp fire, drum party and overnight stay in the desert.

Day 3: Camel Trekking back to Merzouga – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate.

After breakfast, you will go all the way round the dunes via the oasis of MERZOUGA, the nomadic depository, KHAMLIA village (Blacks’ village You’ll visit the Gnawa people, originally slaves brought from Sudan, to experience their music and lifestyle. Not far away there’s the lake of Merzouga, with its bird populations, you’ll leave for Rissani. Once called Sijilmassa, this was the meeting place for the salt caravans, coming from Timbuktu in Mali. Here you’ll walk through the souk, selling spices, vegetables and cloths. After a lunch pizza in Rissani you will travel back to your riad where where your camel will be awaiting you. After a glass of mint tea. After lunch we will make our way to start our camel trek. All unnecessary luggage can be left in safe rooms at the hotel. camel trek will take us to a Berber camp in the middle of the Erg Chebbi sand dunes, the highest in North Africa. The camp consists of several comfortable Berber tents equipped with mattresses and linen, a restaurant, and a kitchen. The evening will consist of dinner followed by entertainment provided by Berber drums, ( unforgettable night).

Day 4: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Ifran – Fez.

Before sunrise, our camel warden will wake you to ascend the dunes and find the sun emerge above the horizon. During the winter season, when the days are short, we will start the camel trek and on route pause to meet the sunrise. Arriving at the hotel we will be able to have showers and breakfast, before continuing our journey to Fez.

We leave Merzouga en route to Fez, passing through many places: Arfoud, Errachidia, Ziz Valley, Meditlt, Cedar Forests of Azrou, Ifrane, and Fez. On a good day, you might be able to catch a glimpse of the monkeys that live in the forests. We will stop for lunch along the way in one of the many restaurants. Our guide will make sure you reach your chosen Riad or Hotel. Here we will leave at your Riad or Hotel at the end of the 3 days tour.
